Nokia N810 Dead (battery issue)?

N810 is an interesting piece of hardware (UMPC) from Nokia for those who wish to play with Debian destro.

If you leave N810 switched on for weeks without charging, then N810 reaches a state where it won't start again. Interesting part is even if you charge whole night, the screen just blinks and won't boot.

How to recover: (try at your own risk)

  1. Unplug the device, remove the battery for few minutes. Put it back and then switch it on. Didn't work ?
  2. Borrow a charged BP-4L battery (from Nokia E52, E71, E72, E6 etc) and put it in device. power it on. Then power off the device and replace with original battery. Didn't work ?
  3. Put the device in a plastic bag and put the bag in refrigerator (not FREEZER). Wait for 20 - 30 mins and then take it out power on and immediately re-flash the device with latest OS.
